I have been meaning to post about this since last week I just haven't had time to sit down and get it out.
Last Thursday (Izzy's b-day) I went with my girlfriends to see the movie Juno. What a wonderful movie. It is funny, heartwarming and made me cry. It is about a teenage girl who gets pg and gives the baby up for a private adoption. It was a very full circle day for me when I saw the movie because right before I left, C, Izzy's Bm called me to wish Izzy a happy b-day and see how she was doing. It has been a long time since I have spoken with her, and it was so nice. It sounds like her and the birthfather are doing really well and I felt so much love for them. Words can't even express how I feel about these two amazing people. I am so glad she called and it was so nice to talk to her. I really really really hope they stay in touch over the years.
I made them a book on Shutterfly of Izzy's first year and I am waiting to receive it so I can get it out to the agency. I hope they like it. They sent Izzy a b-day present of some really cute clothes and socks which was so nice.
Anyway back to the movie, I really think all you adoptive and non adoptive parents that read my blog should go see it. It is fairly accurate when it comes to adoption, some of it is a little hollywood but it is a wonderful movie and I think it puts adoption in a great light!

So tired!!!
Man am I tired today! I don't know what was up with Izzy last night but she was up 3 times!!! The first time was at about 1:40, didn't go up there, she went back to sleep only to get up again at 2:30...which I went up there was going to give her motrin (i think she is teething) but it was empty so i just rocked her and put her back down, then she was up again at 5:30 at which point i did give her motrin and put her back to bed and she slept till her usual wake up time of 7:30. I just slept like crap even when I did sleep....I said to DH at 5:30, man going back to a newborn is going to suck!!! I really hope it is just teething and she is not getting sick!
I think it is kinda funny that neither one of us are rushing to fill out the paperwork.....i think because neither one of us is really ready to go back to getting up so much at night. We talked about starting it all in Feb...which is end of this week already!!!
Izzy's b-day party was a hit, the cousins had fun and Izzy did great! She ate her whole piece of cake and charmed everyone! She got some good toys but nobody went crazy which was good!
Oh and a status on my workout/weight loss journey......I have completed the first 2 weeks of working out....i even added one more day at home, so I have worked out 4 days a week for the last two weeks...that is the most ever in my life except for in high school when I played sports!!! I am also doing pretty well the nutrition part, it is hard to stick to it, but so far I am for the most part....I write everything down that I eat and teh nutritionist looks at it every monday! So yesterday we weighed in and I lost 4 lbs in 2 weeks!!! I was pretty pleased and so was the trainer and nutritionist! I know starting next week the workouts are going to get a lot tougher so I hope I can keep up!!!
Okay enough procrastinating, I need to get back to work, if i can stay awake. I am even drinking a red bull which I don't like and they were out of the sugar free kind so it is extra calories, I am going to have to cut out from dinner!
Oh and I can feel AF coming on (finally, with the working out and running out of the BCP, I am about a week late) so that isn't going to help my energy level!

Taking Steps
Well, Izzy took 6 steps to me yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!! It is amazing how fast it changes, her balance and confidence seem to have changed over night!!!! I think she is still a little while from walking on her own but she does really well with her walker and now will even walk holding only one of your hands. She is growing up so fast, make it stop!!!!! We got some decent video of her taking some steps I will have DH download it off the camera so I can post it.

a year ago........starting over?
Well, it will be exactly one year tomorrow that we found out we got matched!!!!!!!!!!! CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! And Izzy's 1 year b-day is Thursday!!! I still can't believe what a whirlwind it all was. I think about you this day last year I had no idea we would be picked and then look what happened. With all that happened to us last year I wonder what is in store for us this year?????
We have asked for all the paperwork to start filling out to adopt again.................yep you heard me right!!!!! I am scared, and nervous...but we want Izzy to have a sibling. I forgot how much paperwork is invovled!!! You would think that since we just did this a year ago, we wouldn't have to re do all of it.........WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My guess maybe we will start filling it out and making our physical appts etc in February.....i have to start a new scrapbook too since we gave our original to the birthparents...............so overwhelming thinking about doing it all again, but we have to do it!!!!! I do think the wait this time won't be much of an issue since we have Izzy to keep us busy, so I know that when it is right for our next child to find us he/she (we are not going to specify) they will and in the meantime I will cherish all the alone time I get to spend on Izzy.......
Here is a new picture of her playing in her popup tent from my mom......

Boot Camp
Well, I survived my first session at the gym....probably because we didn't workout really except to calculate our anerobic heartrate or whatever it is called. So I am not sure how hard the workouts are going to be but let me say the nutrition part just might kill me!!!
So the session started by getting weighed, measured and pinched. Then we did the heartrate thing on the treadmill and then we met with the nutrition lady....she proceeded to give us a folder. In it was our current weight, current BMI (mine was 26.26 which means I am "overweight" , Goal weight (holy crap it is 18lbs less than i weigh now) and our meal plans (yikes i am on a 1500 calorie meal plan) Then she starts explaining how to read our meal plans and serving sizes of portions etc. We have to write down everything we eat in a journal and we meet with the nutritionist once a week and if we forget the journal or don't write in it we oh her a dollar!!! So i get home last night and I am trying to figure out to calculate everything and I am so confused!!! Weight watchers is so much easier. I am going to have to ask lots of questions, the trainer and nutritionist gave us their phone numbers and e-mails so they will be accessible to us at all times.
So basically the program consists of working out 3 x a week for an hour and once a week meeting with the nutritionist following our workout. It is a 3 month program and attendence is expected every session. We get weighed again in 2 weeks and then half way through they weigh us and measure us again. Should be interesting...if i stick to it, it should work.........
Okay and here is the worst part...since this is through a local radio station, it is 3 DJ's and me and one other "normal" girl. So we all get there yesterday and in addition to the Dj's is a CAMERA MAN!!!! My DJ partner failed to mention that part, so here I am looking like CRAP, no makeup, overgrown eyebrows!!! The other girl (who is my TOTAL opposite tall, thin (maybe has to loose 10 lbs and ver outgoing) is all cutesy in her weird pink hat and pigtails and a ton of makeup!!!! So they shot video and I am assuming it will be posted on the stations website......HOW EMBARRASSING!!!
Oh well, I guess it will make me look that much better in the end right? I will keep you posted with my progess, we will see how the workouts go tomorrow. The trainer seems really nice but I am sure she is going to push us...which is good........
Stay tuned.......
Oh and poor Izzy, I took her back to the Dr yesterday because she was really crabby and her cough was just horrible...turns out she has an ear infection and Kroup (sp?) Poor kid!!! So we got an antibiotic and a steriod...poor baby!! Hopefully by tomorrow she will be back to her usual self.......

Work out world here I come!
Well I am working out today for the first time in oh......I can't even remember. I was given the opportunity to work out at Lifetime fitness through a team workout group...for FREE so I couldn't turn it down. I am still not sure exactly how the program works but it is 3 x a week for 1 hour. I am paired up with a partner (who is a DJ on a local radio morning show and my sister in laws boyfriend hence how i was given the opportunity) and we will be in some small private class with a few other dj's and their partners from the radio station and I am not sure if it is a competition or what but I will find out today at my first workout. I am so nervous because I am soooo out of shape plus i am still getting over a sinus infection. I commited to this program and it last 3 months so I am stuck now!!!! Wish me luck!!!!
It is Monday Wed and Friday from 12-1. They have onsite childcare that I will have access too also although today i am not taking Izzy since she is sick so my sitter is coming over. So now everyday of teh week is spoken for, I work on Tues and Thursdays for part of the day and now this....should make the days go fast, I just hope I don't hate it since I am not much of a workout person...but I really need to be. If I could loose 10-15lbs it would be a bonus too. I hope I get more energy and actually learn to like it because I really do need to be healthy....
I will post how it goes later.........so NERVOUS!!!!!!!!!

Blow Kiss Video
Okay lets see if it comes out okay, our video camera is kinda crappy especially inside but here you go. And don't mind Dh's voice making the kissing sound :)
Sick baby again
Well I think Izzy is getting sick again (of course because DH is out of town) I just hope she doesn't get as sick as I was last week, I am still getting over it, bronchitis and a sinus infection. Izzy is running a low grade fever and so stuffed up and crabby. She did ok sleeping last night she woke up once around 2:30 and i went and rocked her and gave her tylenol and put her back to bed, too bad I couldn't sleep, I probably fell asleep about 4 and she was up early this morning at 6:30. I called the Dr and they said as long as her fever is under 101 she doesn't need to be seen and I shouldn't give her any tylenol because a low grade fever is the bodies way of fighting it...so poor thing just has to suffer through it.
I can't believe she is almost a year old!!!!!!!!! She is such a sweet baby, so happy! She is really starting to understand what you are saying it is quite amazing. She has some favorite books and toys and when you tell her to go find them she crawls over to them, it is so cute. She is also getting very good at using her walker toy, she can push it and walk around everywhere with it, she still can't really pull it back and realign it so when she runs into the wall or something you have to turn her around. And my favorite new trick of hers is blowing a kiss! We have been working with her for a while to do it and all of sudden the other night she did it to Chris, If I can figure out how to load the video of it I will because it is SOOO cute!!! She is also all done with baby food and has been for a couple of weeks, the kid wants nothing to do with anything she can't put in her mouth herself, she just won't let you spoon feed her. She still only has 2 teeth but she can eat anything. Her favorite seems to be homemade blueberry pancakes...she can eat more than a whole pancake. She also likes pasta and cheese.
Here is my new favorite picture of her, we were playing in the laundry basket.
