Okay moms out there that read my blog I need help!
2 out of the last 3 nights Izzy has woken up about 2hrs after goign to bed (and she went to bed fine like normal) she wakes up SCREAMING, I mean crying so hard she is gagging and coughing! If we go up there, pick her up and comfort her she stops right away, but she will NOT go back to bed! She just continues to scream and scream and scream like she is being tortured. The only way to get her to stop is to put her in our bed (which we REALLY don't want to do!) Last night we tried letting her scream it out for over a half hour but she wouldn't stop and finally I couldn't take it anymore so we put her in our bed. Which means she kicks us all night until we have had enough and in the middle of the night dh puts her back in her bed and she is fine until morning.
I can't tell if she is doing it on purpose because she wants to sleep with us (which i really find hard to believe because it really is very rare that she shares our bed) or if she really is terrified of something or somethign hurts. She has been pulling at her ear a little bit but I woudl be suprised if she has an ear infection. She is a bit stuffed up the last few nights which I know pisses her of, but I don't know what to do!!!! I feel like she is old enought that she shouldn't be doing this but she is. It is shear torture to listen to her screaming like that, and she just goes on and on!
Help, please??????

Oh goodness! I have no clue. T did the same thing maybe about a month or two ago for a few nights in a row. We never figured it out. We thought it was either her teething really bothering her, or that she was having nightmares (she was very restless those nights and was talking/crying in her sleep). We too brought her into bed with us, which none of us are used to. You feel so frustrated because they can't really tell you what is wrong. One of the nights we took her for a ride in the car, which calmed her down, then we brought her in and put her right to bed. Another night we proceeded to "re-do" the bedtime routine with reading her a book and tucking her back in. I think it's just a current stage! If worse comes to worse, give her a little benedryl or Tylenol before bed and see if she can sleep through.
I am so happy to hear T did it too! I hope she is over is soon! I did give her Motrin both nights, we'll see how long it takes her to get over it.
Monkey Girl does that from time to time - I'm told they are night terrors (nightmares) and when it happens, she is hard to console.
I find that just gently rocking her in a different room, and talking quietly to her helps her calm down. We don't bring her to bed with us because she wont sleep with us anyway (yay!!) but I do think taking her out of her bedroom for a bit helps a lot. She usually goes back down after about 15 min or so.
